BEFORE

Our clients’ kitchen was functional, yet filled with monochrome wood tones. While they liked the warmth of wood and wanted to keep touches of the rustic pine trim and wood-tone flooring, it was time to update the rest of the kitchen. Outdated tile countertops, lackluster lighting, and a worn-out backsplash filled the space. The need for a more contemporary design and improved functionality prompted the decision to undergo a complete overhaul.

DURING

We kicked off this transformation with a complete demolition of the space, where we bid farewell to the old cabinets, countertops, and backsplash. The bi-level kitchen island was originally set at an angle with the rest of the cabinetry and this created an inefficient use of space. Our new layout enlarged the island, kept the countertop at one level, and squared it up within the kitchen layout. We ran electrical to the new island to accommodate a microwave drawer and outlets and added under-cabinet lighting throughout.

The patio door in the breakfast nook is an area of high-traffic for our clients’ family, so we added a mud bench with shoe storage that flows directly into the kitchen cabinetry. A desk had previously been in this area, and we relocated it to the opposite side of the kitchen, adding more storage space for kids’ art supplies.

A custom plaster vent hood over the range adds elegant simplicity. To turn the white quartz countertops into a complete show-stopper, we bonded the counter edges to double their thickness. A composite granite apron-front sink and champagne bronze hardware add perfect touches of warmth to our kitchen color palette. Ultimately, everything came together to form the perfect blend of beauty with functionality.

AFTER

Throughout the kitchen renovation, we kept in mind a goal of modern southwest style for this home. Our clients love this aesthetic, and we wanted the kitchen design to flow seamlessly into new furniture selections. A home transformation doesn’t stop when the renovation is finished, and we are happy to help you complete your space with our design services!

The transformation in this space isn’t just visual; it’s tangible in the improved workflow, enhanced lighting, and the overall atmosphere of the kitchen and home. From the carefully chosen appliances to the attention to detail in finishes, every element has been thoughtfully curated to bring this kitchen into the present day.
