Jack and Jill Transitional Bathroom

BEFOREAFTER

INTRO

Hello again! Great to see you back here. Today we will be showcasing our Jack and Jill Transitional Bath. We completed this project back in 2021 and we are thrilled to share the results with you today. The Jack and Jill Transitional Bath project restructured a shared kids’ bathroom to create a simple, timeless space for our clients’ daughters with just the right hint of femininity. Come with us as we take a walk through this renovation project!

BEFORE

The original layout of this bathroom included a closet between the two vanities. This placement made the space feel crowded and did not maximize the bathroom’s organization potential. Our goals were to update the aesthetic with new tile, cabinets, and countertops, replace the linen closet with a more functional built-in linen cabinet, and create a more functional space that our clients could enjoy for years to come!

DURING

Jack and Jill Bath

For this Jack and Jill bath renovation, we began by knocking out the linen closet in favor of an integrated linen cabinet with drawers for better organization. We continued the quartz countertop all the way across the room and opted for a shallower countertop cabinet that took up less visual space between the girls’ vanities. MSI Midnight Corvo quartz in a stunning honed finish provided the perfect contrast with the paint-grade custom cabinetry. The sink faucets are Kingston Brass in a polished chrome finish.

The cabinetry is finished in Sherwin Williams Gossamer Veil, and the bathroom walls in Sherwin Williams Greek Villa. The trim, ceiling, and doors are painted in Sherwin Williams Greek Villa. The black lace-shaped tops on the vanity lights fixtures are the perfect girly touch!

Bathing Area

We used Speartek Riviera zellige-look ceramic tile in white for the shower wall for an old world, perfectly imperfect look. Matte black shower fixtures from Kohler repeat the deep black of the quartz counters. The floral marble mosaic tile floor is both classic and whimsical!

Finishing Touches and Details

We focused on fun design details in this bathroom – tapered furniture-style legs on the vanities with recessed toe kicks, matte-finish quartz for an unexpected texture, marble mosaic floor tiles, zellige shower tile, and a subtle neutral gradient color palette.

AFTER

The Jack and Jill Transitional Bath turned out beautifully and we are very pleased with how all of the pieces came together. The countertop cabinet allows for a much more open space without sacrificing storage capacity. The improved lighting, soft white walls, and white and gray flooring help to brighten up the space while contrasting nicely with the black countertops and matte black shower fixtures. These dark items also provide the perfect contrast for a sleek and sophisticated look.

We hope you love these results as much as we do. Feel free to leave a comment below and let us know what you think!
