Chateau Spa Refresh
INTRO
When it comes to remodeling, transformation isn’t always about starting over; it’s about elevating what’s already there. With intentional design choices, even the most familiar spaces can be reimagined into something more beautiful, functional, and personal.
This home is the perfect example. The homeowners came to us with two clear goals: a master bathroom that finally matched its generous size with spa-worthy luxury, and a kitchen that didn’t need a full overhaul, just a thoughtful refresh to align with the rest of their evolving home. With updated materials, refined color palettes, and solutions designed specifically for their needs, we helped them achieve a fresh start without a complete rebuild.
Follow along to see how a luxury wet room and a subtle kitchen facelift brought new life and a whole new feel to these everyday spaces.
BEFORE
Though spacious, the original master bathroom lacked storage, character, and visual interest. The layout, complete with fur downs above the vanity and an awkward opening leading into the closet, felt pieced together. A small, standalone shower and basic builder-grade finishes left the room feeling bland and not a representation of our clients’ taste. The potential was there, but the experience was far from spa-like.
In contrast, the kitchen layout functioned well, but the finishes had become tired and ready for a refresh. Countertops and backsplash materials no longer reflected the homeowners’ style, and the butler’s pantry wasn’t reaching its full potential when it came to storage. Rather than gutting the kitchen, the goal was to introduce a clean, elevated look through carefully chosen upgrades.
DURING
In the bathroom, we began with a full demo to create a blank slate. We removed the dated fur downs and reshaped the layout to support a spa-inspired wet room, featuring a freestanding tub and an expanded shower area with multiple shower heads. The new wet zone brought both form and function to the space, turning separate, underwhelming features into a cohesive luxury experience.
Texture was essential in such a large space, so we expanded the shower wall tile and added vertical v-groove paneling behind the vanity. The Glazzio Quell Dune tile, laid in a vertical brick pattern, created gentle movement, while the Karma Ridge shower floor tile brought organic texture underfoot.
We replaced the linen closet with a custom floor-to-ceiling cabinet, creating far more usable storage and a cleaner aesthetic. New cabinetry included a lowered makeup station, tower cabinet, and even hidden outlets in the vanity drawers, showcasing our ability to design storage that’s as smart as it is beautiful.
The cabinetry, painted Sherwin Williams Amazing Gray, pairs with the MSI Babylon Gray quartz countertops and soft white v-groove details for a palette that’s both elevated and calming. Porcelain Borghini floor tiles laid in a linear grid ground the space with subtle sophistication. Every inch of the bathroom was retouched, with walls painted in Aesthetic White and ceiling trim in Pure White for a seamless finish.
In the kitchen, we focused on what could be enhanced, not replaced. We repainted the existing cabinetry and added new custom floor-to-ceiling cabinets in the butler’s pantry to expand storage without affecting the layout. New Daltile Chateau quartz countertops gave the kitchen a refined, polished look, while backsplash tile from Anthology’s Watercolors Collection in Coastal Cottage added a hint of movement and charm. Trim in Greige and new paint throughout; walls in Worldly Gray, cabinets in Aesthetic White, and the island in Felted Wool completed the refresh, creating a cohesive and modern feel.
As with many renovations, surprises come with the territory. In this case, the HVAC layout in the ceiling required creative problem-solving. Jeremy modified the framing to accommodate the system. Our team doesn’t just design with vision, but also knows how to bring it to life, even when the unexpected arises.
AFTER

The result is a bathroom that now feels like a European spa sanctuary. The wet room’s seamless integration of tub and shower creates a sense of calm and cohesion. Textures, v-groove, quartz, porcelain, and tile work together without overwhelming the space, while the new cabinetry makes every inch work smarter. With the odd closet opening now closed in, the space flows more naturally, offering privacy and purpose in equal measure.
The kitchen refresh proves that sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference. Updated surfaces and paint created a brighter, more inviting space that feels custom and current without altering its function. The butler’s pantry, once overlooked, now adds both beauty and storage, blending seamlessly into the refreshed design.
